Why I am watching All the Star Treks

I was born during first dark age of Star Trek. An era when movies trickled forth, but the then airwaves of television were devoid of all but the even then aged reruns of TOS. My parents didn't believe in television, but they did believe in Star Trek, so when TNG was announced we went to the thrift store and got an ancient black and white television. It wasn't like I hadn't seen television before, both my grandparents and various friends and cousins all had it, but getting to watch it at home was a new experience and it is still my one true love when it comes to television and science fiction.
Eventually we got a color television and even a VCR. The local library and various video rental stores all had episodes of TOS, but I never watched it in any particular order and there may even be episodes I missed over the years! The horror! As a family we watched all of TNG during it's original airing and then DS9. When it came to Voyager I was off at college when it finished airing which was my excuse at the time for not finishing it, but to be honest I didn't enjoy it as much as the other series. Then came Enterprise, which I watched the first few episodes of and then gave up.
Today (well, technically yesterday) this spotty watching history comes to an end. I am going watch and review (hahaha, ok, rant about) every single episode of every series of Star Trek. Also the movies, even the painful odd numbered ones. I will be watching them in the order originally released starting with the pilot, and ending on whatever episode or movie airs before I die!
