Lots happened in this episode but unfortunately I am super tired and have an early day tomorrow so this is going to have to be a quick write up. I continue to gain respect for Damar as in this episode he chooses to side with Kira over his own man. It can't be easy for him, but it is clearly the right thing, unfortunately people can't always make that choice even when it is clearly correct. On the Klingon front Worf kills the chancellor he brought into office completing the circle, lets just hope Martok is up to the task.
We begin on Cardassia where Kira is chewing out Damar and his aide Rusot over tactical blunders in a sabotage mission. Odo returns and asks to be alone. Garak stops by anyway and learns that Odo is rapidly deteriorating now that he is shapeshifting so much. He is hiding it from Kira, but she already knows. On the station Julian has been staying up days at a time working on a cure, but he isn't getting anywhere. Miles tries to convince him to bring Sisko in, but Bashir is too worried about section 31 getting wind of it and killing them off. Martok is blamed by Gowron for a failure on a mission that had no chance of success and Worf talks to Ezri about what he should do. She thinks the Klingon empire is too corrupt to survive, but Worf isn't so sure.
On Cardassia again Rusot threatens to kill Kira, but she manages to hold her own. They come up with a plan to steal a Breen weapon, but it involves infiltrating and capturing a Jem'Hadar ship. Kira, Odo, Garak, Damar and Rusot go on the mission over Rusot's objections. On the station Bashir is finally convinced by Miles that he needs to set a trap for Section 31 to try and get to whoever made the virus. Worf also realizes he has to take desperate measure and challenges Gowron as unfit to lead. After killing him in a duel Worf hands the mantel of power to Martok who is hailed by the other Klingons. With some help from Odo pretending to be the female founder they manage to take the ship with the weapon, but there is a delay and Rusot pulls his gun on Kira only to have Garak pull his weapon on Rusot. Damar intervenes and kills Rusot. Odo collapses unable to hold his form any more just as they escape.
Review: Sorry about the short summary again, but I am hella tired. I enjoyed this episode, but it really only serves to setup the episodes after it so I am giving it only a slightly above average score.
6 out of 10
